⚠ THIS TOOL CANNOT UNLOCK:

Microsoft Online Accounts

If you sign in to Windows with a Microsoft account (an email address like @outlook.com or @gmail.com), this tool will not work. You must reset your password at account.microsoft.com using another device.

BitLocker-Encrypted Drives

If your drive is protected with BitLocker encryption, access to the drive is blocked without the recovery key. This tool cannot bypass BitLocker. Check your Microsoft account at account.microsoft.com for your recovery key.

This tool only works with local Windows accounts on non-encrypted drives.

Select the USB from the boot list

Use the arrow keys to highlight the entry that shows "USB" or your USB drive name, then press Enter.

04

Wait for Hiren's BootCD to load

The tool will load automatically. This takes about 30–60 seconds. Do not remove the USB while it loads.

STEP 2 — RESET THE PASSWORD

05

Open Windows Login Unlocker

Once the Hiren's BootCD desktop loads, find the "Windows Login Unlocker" shortcut on the desktop. Double-click to open it.

06

Select your Windows installation

The tool will scan your drives and detect your Windows installation automatically. Select it from the list and click OK.

07

Choose the user account

A list of all local user accounts on that Windows installation will appear. Click on the account you are locked out of.

08

Unlock or reset the password

Click "Reset Password". You can either clear the password entirely (leave the new password field blank) or set a new one. Click OK to apply.

09

Remove the USB and restart

Close the tool, remove the USB drive, and restart your PC. You can now log in to your account with the new password — or with no password if you cleared it.

FAQ

Will this delete my files?

No. This tool only resets the login password. Your files, apps, and settings remain completely untouched.

Does it work with Windows 10 and Windows 11?

Yes. The tool works with Windows 7, 8, 10, and 11 on both 32-bit and 64-bit systems.

I see a Secure Boot error

Go into BIOS/UEFI (press F2, DEL, or F10 at startup). Find the "Secure Boot" option and disable it. Save and reboot, then try booting from the USB again.

The USB doesn't appear in my boot menu

Go into BIOS/UEFI and check "Boot Order" or "Boot Priority". Make sure USB is listed above your hard drive. Also try a different USB port.

What if my account is a Microsoft account (online account)?

This tool only works with local Windows accounts. If you sign in with a Microsoft email address, you must reset your password at account.microsoft.com from another device — this USB cannot help with online accounts.
