Most distributions on this USB run in live mode — they load fully into RAM and run without touching your hard drive. Your existing Windows installation and files remain completely safe.

FAQ

Will booting from the USB affect my Windows install?

No. Live Linux distributions run entirely in RAM and do not touch your hard drive or Windows installation. Your files and settings are completely safe.

I see a Secure Boot error when booting

Go into BIOS/UEFI (press F2, DEL, or F10 at startup). Find the "Secure Boot" option and disable it. Save changes and reboot. The USB supports both UEFI and Legacy BIOS modes.

Can I install one of these Linux systems to my hard drive?

Yes — most distributions offer an installer option within the live environment. Be aware that installing will overwrite the selected drive partition.

The USB doesn't appear in my boot menu

Go into BIOS/UEFI and check "Boot Order" or "Boot Priority". Make sure USB is listed above your hard drive. Also try a different USB port.

Do I need a license key for any of these?

No. All Linux distributions are free and open-source. Windows XP is included as a legacy tool — use it responsibly and do not connect it to the internet.
